I say it every year and I’ll say it again…. I can’t believe another school year is ending! Where does the time go?!
Over our last decade of homeschooling, I’ve learned just how fast summer flies by, too. So even though the door is still swinging shut on this past school year, it’s time to think ahead and start planning next year’s homeschooling adventures!
Each summer I’ve shared Our Curriculum Choices and plans for the year ahead. Read on to find out what homeschool curricula and resources we’ll be using this coming year with our 10th, 7th, and 3rd grade kids.

Year 11 Snapshot
After moving twice in the last two years, I’m glad to say I think (and hope and pray) we’re **finally** settling in to our new state, new home, and new routines. Phew!
Believe me when I say… homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family during this extended season of transition. It’s given us both flexibility and consistency when those were desperately needed.
I truly can’t express how amazing our homeschooling lifestyle has been for so many more reasons than I initially thought it would be (more about that in my book, Think About Homeschooling: What It Is, What It Isn’t, & Why It Works)!
Anyway, now that my precious brain space isn’t being taken up by remembering which moving box is hiding holding the spatulas, my focus has been on re-establishing where each of my kids is at academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.
This year I’m really intentionally customizing each kid’s learning plan more than ever before. I’m excited and hopeful about the possibilities!

Other Fun Stuff
Of course we’ll add our usual extracurricular fun and field trips as we go.
We’ll continue our BookIt tradition (free pizzas anyone?) and other local library reading programs. And my two youngest kids will take a “just for fun” board game class at our co-op.
All three of my kids have really enjoyed being in our local youth Archery Club, and we hope to try some indoor rock climbing this year, too.
My youngest is also still enjoying American Heritage Girls, and her older brothers are currently deciding about Trail Life, Science Olympiad, and a few other local extracurricular options. I fear there’s no end in sight to my job as family chauffeur. *sigh*
